Carl and I are also happy that we deferred the equipment selection to your company's expertise. The AstroVac is a fantastic choice and on top of everything else, it is so quiet! Carl can be working in the garage without a screaming machine in the background. In fact we find it quieter than our canister vacuum that the central system replaced.
I do have to say that I don't see these systems as simple to install (in existing construction) as the internet leads one to believe. Carl is extremely talented in home renovations, but admitted this is a job you want done by professionals because they have the expertise of many, many prior installations and the correct tools and tricks for the job.
We had been told several years ago that installing a central vacuum system in our home was not feasible without many drywall holes and patches. Perhaps that is true for the tradesman that lacks Tom and Scott's experience. They had a game plan when they arrived and executed it with talent and pure know-how that is unparalleled in our opinion. Only one extra hole in the drywall (inside a coat closet) was all that was required for the entire installation covering 3 levels of living space. Carl had that one hole patched later that evening after the job was finished.

"Thanks for the instructions for the Hide-A-Hose central vacuum remote. Our system is now working fine. I had to do the reprogramming mentioned at the end of the instructions.
